650 million masks were readied for mailing and the White House stopped them.

Today, Dr. Sanjay Gupta was speaking about how the White House stopped the USPS from sending out 650 million masks, early in the pandemic. He claims if this pandemic were handled properly, (including sending those masks out) we could have avoided 80 percent of the deaths, now approaching 200,000.

He then mentioned how a portion of the country is ridiculing those of us who acknowledge reality: That there is a deadly virus infecting and killing people every day.

As a life-long student of human behavior, I can’t stop asking myself, “what is this craziness about?” How has a deadly virus split this nation down the middle? Whose purpose is served by ignoring the obvious truth? How has this pandemic turned into a politico-religious tug of war?

This can only happen if the two clearly divided sides are being fed different “facts” about the reality we face every day. And this observation relates back to the piece I posted yesterday. We have been carved up into demographics and are being fed “facts” that match our personal profiles. And those “facts” are different. All this is happening because social media sites can make enormous profits by selling our attention to advertisers.

We are being served up on the altar of the American God called profits. And Trump, the High Priest, is leading the ritual. This is no longer politics. It’s religion!
